About Us

A hidden gem embedded within Kiulap and founded by the late Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Setia Jaya Pengiran Hj Abdul Momin Bin Pengiran Othman, Kolej International Graduate Studies was established to provide students with the opportunity to pursue their dream of achieving higher academic qualifications. Kolej IGS is currently offering programmes in the areas of Information Technology and Business, and certificates and diplomas in Art & Humanities and Multimedia & Broadcasting.

Staying faithful to the founder’s vision to equip young Bruneians with highly relevant skills for maximum chances of employability, Kolej IGS employs professionally qualified training staff committed to the needs of vocational and technical education programmes and undergraduate studies.

As for running programmes that are designed to produce industry-ready graduates, Kolej IGS has been accredited to run 3-year full-fledged degree programmes through an academic collaboration with Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT), Malaysia as from April 2011. This academic collaboration with other institutions of higher learning has grown significantly over the years to include the offering of the certificate and diploma level programmes in multimedia and broadcasting areas with the University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) as of 2016 and BriBUS foundation level programme with the University of Technology Brunei as of 2019. University of Technology Brunei as of 2019 and as IBTE approved Training Centre to run IBTE Programmes in HNTEC and NTEC in Business and Information Technology as of October 2021.

Diving back into Kolej International Graduate Studies’ past, Kolej IGS is the first local tertiary level institution to be fully accredited by His Majesty’s Government through Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council (BDNAC), Ministry of Education in 2003 to run the diploma courses of Brunei Darussalam Technical and Vocational Education Council (BDTVEC). Today a number of significant developments have taken place after 18 years of operation. Kolej IGS is now offering 22 different programmes which include six (6) at degree level qualifications, three (3) foundation, four (4) diplomas, and two (2) certificates level programmes.

By providing tertiary-level education and professional training to the local community, Kolej IGS is playing its role in facilitating and supporting the skilled human resource needs of His Majesty’s Government and the private sector by equipping the students with the critical skills and knowledge to assist in ensuring the continued development of Negara Brunei Darussalam in the 21st Century.

Significant Achievements

In 2004, Kolej IGS kicked off its first BDTVEC Pre-National Diploma and National Diploma programmes admission for Business & Finance, and Computer Studies.
In 2007, Kolej IGS launched the Higher National Diploma in Computing, Higher National Diploma in Business (Management), and Higher National Diploma in Business (Accounting) for full-time and part-time study mode.
In 2010, Kolej IGS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) to run collaborative degree programmes that are conducted completely locally which are degrees in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, and Accounting.
In 2011, Kolej IGS became a reputable tertiary education provider by becoming Brunei’s first private institution to provide a 3-year full-fledged degree programme conducted locally.
Kolej IGS was visited by the BDTVEC Council led by the Deputy Minister (Ministry of Education) Yang Mulia Dato Seri Setia Haji Yusoff bin Haji Ismail.
In 2012, Kolej IGS was visited by His Royal Highness Paduka Seri Duli Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Malik ibni Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah D.K.M.B., P.H.B.S. Kolej IGS received the first enrollment of LimKokWing University of Creative Technology Degree Programme and BDTVEC Diploma students under “Skim Pembangunan Keupayaan Sumber Tenaga Di Sektor Swasta” (PSTS) initiated by the Department of Economic Planning & Development, Prime Minister’s Office.
In 2013, Kolej IGS receives approval from the ministry of Education to run four new programmes: Diploma in Animation & Multimedia Design, Diploma in Interactive & Multimedia Design, Diploma in Graphic Design Technology, and Diploma in Advertising, Multimedia and Broadcasting.
In 2014, three final year students in the Bachelor Degree programme from Kolej IGS, Hj Ahmad Nabil bin Hj Awang Sulaiman, Md Kamarul Ariffin Zaki bin Harith Fadzilla and Md Hanif bin Hj Abd Wahab have won the BICTA 2014 under tertiary Project category. The team has built the system named “Mobile-Based Virtual Watch Fitting and Booking Application” based on Android operating System and Augmented Reality Technology.
In 2015, Kolej IGS collaborated with University Malaysia Sabah to run Certificates in Art & Design and Broadcasting.
In 2015, Her Royal higness SultanahPahang Dr. Hajah Kalsom as the Chancelor of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology presented Pengiran (Dr) Hajah Fatimah binti PSJ Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin with an Honorary Doctorate of Leadership in Education.
Pg (Dr.) Hjh Fatimah Binti PSJ Pg Hj Abdul Momin was awarded the Honorary Doctorate of Leadership in Education by LimKokWing University of Creative Technology. “For the dedication, commitment, passion and perseverance, with which she is engaged in building a new generation of knowledgeable and skilled youth in new technology for Brunei, LimKokWing University of Creative Technology feels privileged and honoured to bestow upon Pg Hjh Fatimah Binti PSJ Pg Hj Abdul Momin the Honorary Doctorate of Leadership in Education’.
Kolej IGS’s football team, led by the captain, Ak Muhd Naqib bin Pg Timbang and 2 lecturers won the 1st runner-up prize at the BIBD AT-TAMWIL University Cup 2015.
In 2016, Kolej IGS signed MOU with Universiti Sabah Malaysia to run two (2) certificate programmes: Certificate in Electronic Media Production, and certificate in Art & Design as a pathway to Diploma programmes.
In 2019, Kolej IGS signing MOA with Universiti Teknologi Brunei as One of their satellite partners to run Foundation in Business programme, known as BriBus.
In 2020, Kolej IGS signing of MOU with Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth for future collaboration and programmes to build human capacity and enrichment of Brunei Youths trough the development of innovation and Knowledge management.
In 2021, IBTE approved Training Centre to run five (5) IBTE Programmes in HNTEC and NTEC in Business and Information Technology.

• For our certificate programme a minimum of 2 O’ Level

• Four our degree foundation programme a minimum of 1 A’Level or 5O’Levels

How and where can I pay fees?

The tuition fees can be paid either on a monthly basis, per semester or per annum and all payment can be made at the Finance Department

Is it possible to do my studies on a part-time basis?

At the moment, the college does not offer any part-time studies as the programmes are conducted on a full-time basis. However, for our degree course, students have the option to enroll as a Day or Night Student.

I’m interested in joining a sports or an activity club of some kind, do you have one?

Our ECA comprises vibrant activities, from cross-country running to DJ-ing, from aerobics to movie appreciation club. Students are welcomed to join any club of their interest to express individuality while enhancing learning opportunities such as co-operation skills which will come handy in life.
