Established on September 23rd, 2019 / 23 Muharram 1441H during the National Teachers’ Day celebration top accelerate and strengthen the country’s human resources development through lifelong learning. The centre aims to provide equal and equitable access to quality education through improvement of lifelong learning opportunities.
The Centre serves as a one-stop information centre and a gateway for lifelong learning programmes offered by L3C and various lifelong learning providers from both government and non-government sectors.
- Workforce Development Programmes: These programmes support Technical and Vocational Education Inititiatives (TVEIs), Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and private training centres to develop and conduct pre-employment training (PET) and continuing education and training (CET) programmes to meet demand of job markets for skills mastery and professional certification leading to employment as well as upskilling and reskilling.
- Community Development Programmes: These programmes or short courses are based on community needs and development principles for social inclusion, equity and cohesion.
- Academic Upgrading Programmes: These programmes are designed to offer youths, school leavers and adult learners access to multiple pathways of entry to TVEIs and HEIs, including bridging programmes and academic upgrading programmes such as G.C.E. ‘O’, ‘A’ & ’IGCSE’ evening or weekend classes.
- Personal Development Programmes: Personal development is a vital part of an individual’s growth and progression. Individuals should be encouraged to explore key areas of self-improvement such as building up awareness, knowledge and skills towards developing a stronger overall sense of identity and fulfilment. These programmes are designed to cater to those needs.
